American Liver FoundationDid you know that approximately 30 million Americans have some form of liver disease?  Anyone at any age can be afflicted; the American Liver Foundation works to educate and raise awareness for the dozens of forms of liver disease, in addition to raising funds for research.

Why Do We Give A Chip?

Deep River Snacks founder, Jim Goldberg, is a father of 3 young boys. His middle son, Meyer, was diagnosed in January 2010 with PSC (Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis) and Crohn’s Disease – both diseases that affect the liver. Therefore, the American Liver Foundation has been an important organization to the family.

The Goldberg family is actively involved in raising funds to support the American Liver Foundation by participating in the Liver Life Walks ever since Meyer was diagnosed with liver disease. Naming his team, Meyers Dragons, each year Meyer’s team has grown and raised more and more funds. This is why ‘We Give A Chip’ about the American Liver Foundation and promote this organization on the back of our Mesquite BBQ kettle chips.
